About our Forest School
Our Bell Heath site is easy to reach from many South Birmingham areas, including Rubery, Rednal, Longbridge, Northfield, Frankley, Cofton Hackett and Kings Norton. Depending on traffic, many families can be with us in around 20 to 35 minutes by car. It is a short journey that gives children the chance to leave behind busy routines, screens and indoor spaces, and step into fresh air, trees, mud, wildlife and open-ended play.
At Down in the Forest, children are free to follow their curiosity. They might spend a session searching for minibeasts, building dens, mixing mud, making nature crafts, playing games, creating with sticks and leaves, or simply enjoying their own little adventure outdoors.
Our regular sessions at Bell Heath include Little Explorers for children aged 0 to 5 years, Home Education Forest School, After School Club, and Forest School Club for children aged 8 and over. Every session is warm, relaxed and child-led, with gentle encouragement and plenty of space for children to grow in confidence, independence and imagination.
